Lazard Targets Wealth Management In New York, Hires To Launch New Division

New York investment bank Lazard has hired Thaddeus Shelly to lead a new private wealth management subsidiary. He will initially focus on the firm’s private wealth management effort in the US.

Mr Shelly joins from Bessemer Trust, where he was a senior managing director and regional head of the mid-Atlantic, south and southeast regions. He has worked in private wealth management for the past 25 years. Prior to his stint at Bessemer Trust, he founded and led the private client services ultra high net worth business at Legg Mason, where he worked for six years. He began his career at Goldman Sachs, spending eight years in its private wealth management business.

Lazard currently manages private client assets through its Lazard Asset Management and Lazard Frères Gestion businesses.
